Al-Masry Club announced the appointment of Ahmed Samy as the team's head coach, replacing Emad El-Nahas.

El-Nahas officially left his position as Al-Masry's coach, becoming the first manager to depart this season.

Al-Masry stated via its official page: "We are delighted to welcome Captain Ahmed Samy as our new coach. Welcome to the City of Eagles."

FilGoal.com had previously reported on the decision for El-Nahas to depart and for Ahmed Samy to be appointed in his place.

A source from Al-Masry told FilGoal.com: "The German Josef Zinnbauer was close to coaching the team, but he signed with Sudan's Al-Hilal."

He added, "We subsequently decided to abandon the idea of hiring a foreign coach out of fear of dropping points during his adaptation period with the team, and we turned towards a national coach."

He concluded his statements: "We finalized the agreement with Ahmed Samy after comparing him with Alaa Abd El-Aal and Tamer Mustafa. Samy possesses a strong personality and is capable of managing the team's stars."

Ahmed Samy will lead Al-Masry's training session today, Wednesday, scheduled for 8:00 PM.

Ahmed Samy's coaching staff with Al-Masry will consist of Hosam Abd El-Aal as general coach, Ahmed Fathi as assistant coach, Salah Amin as coach, and Osama Abd El-Karim as goalkeeping coach.

Ahmed Samy has previously coached the clubs Tala'ea El-Gaish, Ceramica Cleopatra, Smouha, and Al-Ittihad, with his most recent experience being with Modern Sport.

Al-Masry is preparing to face Petrojet of Suez on September 7th, in a match belonging to the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al-Masry will participate in the Egyptian Super Cup tournament for the second time in its history, with the tournament scheduled to take place next December.
