As revealed by El-Gol - Algerian Nabil Boukhalfa to referee the Egypt vs. South Africa match

Via FilGoal

The Egyptian Football Association announced the appointment of Algerian referee Nabil Boukhalfa for the match between Egypt and South Africa.

Boukhalfa will officiate as the main referee, assisted by his fellow countrymen Hamza Bouzit and Haitham Bouima.

Boukhalfa has previously refereed matches involving the Egyptian national team, having overseen the Pharaohs' U-17 match against Libya, which Egypt won 7-1 in a friendly held on November 23, 2024.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to face South Africa this Sunday evening.

Egypt had previously defeated South Sudan five goals to nil in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the Pharaohs drew their first qualifier against Angola one goal each.

Mohamed Salah, Haitham Hassan, and Mohamed Abdelmonem will be absent from Egypt's squad for the match.

Egypt last faced South Africa during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, with the match ending in a 1-0 victory for Egypt thanks to a goal by Mohamed Salah.
