Real Madrid has entered the race to sign Carlos Ispie, Levante's striker, to compensate for the expected departure of striker Gonzalo Garcia to English Fulham during the current summer transfer window.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the 21-year-old striker has become one of the most prominent names on the Royal Club's table, amid the management's search for a striker who performs the substitute role for Kylian Mbappe.
The report explained that Ispie's contract with Levante extends until the summer of 2028, while the club insists on obtaining the value of the penalty clause amounting to 25 million euros to approve his departure.
The report indicated that Hull City was very close to concluding the deal, after submitting an official offer to Levante, but Real Madrid's entry into the negotiations threatened to thwart the player's transfer to the English club.
The report revealed the start of initial contacts between Real Madrid and Levante, in addition to communication with the player's representatives, while Ispie prefers to wait and has temporarily halted all other offers awaiting the outcome of negotiations with the Royal Club.
Real Madrid believes that Ispie possesses the specifications sought by the technical staff led by Jose Mourinho, as the club does not target signing a new star, but rather a striker capable of performing the role that Joselu was doing, whether by resting Mbappe or providing the team with different attacking solutions inside the penalty area.
The Spanish striker had an outstanding season with Levante, scoring 13 goals in 27 matches in various competitions, and contributed to keeping his team in the Spanish First Division.
