Arsenal club is intensifying its efforts to sign Bruno Guimarães, Newcastle United star, as the London club prepares a new offer to contract with the Brazilian midfielder.
According to the Brazilian website "UOL Esporte", Mikel Arteta has identified Guimarães as his top target in midfield during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal had submitted two previous offers, worth 55 million pounds sterling and 65 million pounds sterling, which Newcastle rejected.
The report indicates that the London club is now prepared to submit an improved offer worth approximately 72 million pounds sterling, which is the third offer and likely the last, in an attempt to reach a final agreement.
The report mentioned that Guimarães is "very close" to leaving "St. James' Park" stadium, despite Newcastle's insistence that their captain is not for sale.
However, despite Newcastle's stance, the report indicates that the club may reconsider its decision if Guimarães is determined to leave, as an amount approaching 72 million pounds sterling would represent a lucrative return for the 28-year-old player.
The Brazilian international player's contract runs until June 2028, with an option to extend it for an additional year.
