The English newspaper The Sun revealed that Arsenal is closely monitoring the situation of Brazilian Vinicius Junior with Real Madrid, amid stalled contract renewal negotiations so far.
The newspaper explained that the player has not reached an agreement with Real Madrid's management regarding the new contract, due to financial disagreements between the two parties, and that a new round of negotiations will be held next week to resolve the file.
It added that Arsenal is confident in its ability to present an attractive financial offer to Vinicius, in case the renewal negotiations with the Spanish club fail.
It indicated that the player's contract has only one season left, while his first option remains to continue with Real Madrid, but failure to reach an agreement may push some club officials to consider selling him this summer, instead of him leaving for free at the end of the next season.
The newspaper concluded that technical director Jose Mourinho insists on Vinicius continuing within Real Madrid's ranks, and wishes to retain his most prominent stars during the new season.
