Uruguayan star Ronald Araujo expressed his happiness at joining the ranks of English club Liverpool during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Araujo joined Liverpool's ranks on a one-season loan from Spanish club Barcelona.
Araujo's statements
Araujo said in statements to his new club's official website: "I am very excited to start the journey, I am very happy".
He added: "I am excited to be here at this prestigious club with a long history, I eagerly look forward to meeting my teammates in the squad, and I long to start playing, and I am very excited and fully ready to get going".
He continued: "I think it was the ideal step for me at this stage of my career, I think it was a necessary step for me, as soon as I learned of Liverpool's interest, things moved at a very fast pace".
The Uruguayan defender concluded: "As I said, I am very happy to be here and excited to start the journey, I am grateful for this interest, and this was the right step at the right time".
