Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, player of the Saudi Al-Ahli team, was injured in the match against Vitoria Guimaraes, which ended in favor of the Portuguese team with a score of 3-1.
Abu Al-Shamat fell during the friendly match and is currently undergoing an MRI scan at the team's camp in Portugal.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Okaz", the initial indications suggest that Abu Al-Shamat suffered an ankle sprain, a knee injury, or a muscle injury, with the player's condition expected to be determined in the coming hours.
The friendly match against Vitoria Guimaraes is Al-Ahli's fourth match, after three previous friendlies, starting with the match against Austrian Bentzgao Zalfelden, which ended in favor of the Jeddah team with a score of 8-0.
In the second match, Al-Ahli lost to German Holstein Kiel 4-1, then drew with Portuguese Rio Ave 2-2.
Al-Ahli's camp extends until the 28th of this month, during which the team will play four more friendly matches, including two against Portimonense and Fulham.
Al-Ahli had won the Saudi Super Cup title last season by defeating Al-Nassr in the final, then won the AFC Champions League Elite title for the second consecutive time.
