Media personality Ahmed Shobir revealed the behind-the-scenes reasons for the anger of the coaching staff of the Egyptian national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, towards one of the national team players.
Shobir said on his radio program: "Very clearly, there is significant displeasure from the Egyptian national team's coaching staff regarding Mohamed Abdelmonem, a player for the national team and French club Nice."
Mohamed Abdelmonem had missed Egypt's match against South Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to undergoing cruciate ligament surgery, and medical warnings against playing on the artificial turf pitch of the stadium, based on the medical report from his French club Nice, read the details.
Shobir continued: "I hope the issue between the national team's coaching staff and Abdelmonem is resolved early rather than escalating significantly, because they are upset with him and they have every right to be."
He added: "I do not wrong any player, but the coaching staff has the right to be angry with Mohamed Abdelmonem, and I urge the player to take the initiative to end the dispute and anger, as we need him and all the players in the national team."
