Moroccan Hussein Ammouta directed several messages in the press conference to present him as the new technical director of Al Ahly.
Al Ahly had previously announced the signing of Hussein Ammouta as technical director on a two-season contract, succeeding Dane Jens Thorup.
Al Ahly held a press conference at 1 p.m. today, Monday, at the club's headquarters in Zamalek, to announce the details of the contract with Ammouta.
Ammouta said at the beginning of his speech at the press conference: "I thank the Al Ahly administration for choosing me. Al Ahly is the best African club, as proven by the numbers and achievements. It is an honor for me to take on the responsibility of coaching Al Ahly".
He added: "I realize the fans' thirst and that they are not satisfied with anything but success and victory, and I hope to live up to their expectations. I do not like to talk much and prefer to express myself through work on the ground".
He added: "Sayed Abdel Hafeez is the one who contacted me, and Yassin Mansour spoke to me about my vision for the team's future".
He explained: "We welcome signing players of various nationalities, not just Moroccan players. The new players must add value to the team, whether they are Moroccan or not".
He concluded: "Of course, I was following Al Ahly in the past period, but following as an ordinary fan differs from following as someone associated with the club, and we await the fans' support to achieve the desired accomplishments".
