The Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hani Abu Rida, issued a joint statement with 5 Arab federations to affirm support for Gianni Infantino in the presidency of "FIFA".
Infantino was subjected to pressure due to his plan to sell shares in the Men's World Cup to private sector investors before he retracted this matter.
Both the European Football Association (UEFA), the North, Central America and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF), and the Asian Football Confederation issued a joint statement in which they accused Infantino of breaching trust through deception.

The Football Association published a joint statement with 5 Arab federations to support Infantino, which came as follows:
"Recognizing the important role that Arab football plays in bringing peoples closer and strengthening cooperation between football federations throughout the Arab world, we, the undersigned football federation leaders, express our full support for Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Football (FIFA), and reaffirm our confidence in his leadership and his ongoing commitment to developing football worldwide".
"We highly appreciate Mr. Infantino's ongoing efforts to advance football globally, expand opportunities in all regions, and enhance the role of the game in bringing peoples and communities closer together".
"We look forward to continuing our close cooperation with him for a stronger and more prosperous future for world football, expanding opportunities, and enhancing the contribution of Arab football to the game globally".
Five presidents of Arab federations besides Egypt signed the joint statement: (Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani – Qatar, Fouzi Lekjaa – Morocco, Ahmed Yahya – Mauritania, Hashem Haidar – Lebanon, and Moatasem Jaafar – Sudan).
