Via FilGoal

Amado Flavio, a former Al Ahly legend, has officially taken charge of the Angola youth national team.

The Angolan Football Federation stated that Flavio's contract will run until August 2027.

It was clarified that "Flavio will lead the Angola Under-20 national team with the aim of preparing the squad for upcoming international challenges, with a particular focus on participating in the COSAFA Cup and, at the same time, qualifying for next year's Africa Cup of Nations."

Last season, Flavio led Petro Atlético to win the Angolan league title for the fifth consecutive time.

Flavio won the Angolan league in his first title as a manager.

Flavio took over the role from Portuguese coach Ricardo Chiu, who left the team in third place before his departure.

Flavio enjoyed a golden career as a player for Al Ahly between 2005 and 2009.

Flavio ended his playing career in 2014 with Petro Atlético, the club where he also began his career.

Flavio moved into a role as assistant coach at Petro Atlético before taking over as head coach of the Angolan team.
