Chelsea's Spanish coach Xabi Alonso revealed the reason for Moises Caicedo and Marco Ballesta's absence from the Fulham match in the English Premier League.
Chelsea is set to face Fulham today, Monday, concluding the first round of the English Premier League.
Alonso told Sky Sports: "During the week, they suffered some setbacks. We don't want to take too many risks; they weren't ready to play tonight. We need to handle this week by week, but for tonight's match, they simply weren't fit."
Joao Pedro will lead Chelsea's lineup against Fulham in the opening round of the English Premier League.
The match kicks off at 10:00 PM at Craven Cottage, Fulham's home ground.
Enzo Fernandez is on the bench alongside new arrival Danny Welbeck.
