Foot Mercato reported that Brighton has reached an agreement with Young Boys to sign Algerian Joakim Hadjam this summer.

The report clarified that the deal has reached its final stages of refinement.

The Algerian sat on the bench on Sunday during his team's match against Sion.

The player had been on Porto's radar for a signing during the summer transfer window.

This comes after the Portuguese club attempted to sign him during the previous winter transfer window without success.

Turkish Besiktas was also interested in him and even submitted an offer worth €3 million, but Young Boys deemed it insufficient and demanded €5 million.

Meanwhile, some reports linked him with a move to Hull City, recently promoted to the English Premier League.

It is worth noting that Hadjam was teammates with Mostafa Mohamed at Nantes during the 2023–2024 season.

The Algerian international began his career with Paris FC and played for various French youth national teams before deciding to represent Algeria at the senior level.

Hadjam made his international debut for Algeria in 2023 and has since earned 21 caps.
