The Libyan Al-Suwaihli Club denied the news that the team is negotiating with Bertrand Traoré, the star of the Burkina Faso national team.
The club issued an official statement in which it denied any contact with the Burkinabe player, indicating that what is being circulated in this regard has no basis in truth.
Al-Suwaihli said in the official statement: "In light of the rumors being circulated, we confirm that there is no official contact, or even the mere opening of a line of negotiations with the Burkinabe player Bertrand Traoré, and that everything being circulated in this regard is mere rumors that have no basis in truth."
He continued: "At a time when the club is preoccupied with actual work and building the team for the next stage, we can only express our extreme astonishment at the suspicious method followed by some media channels and platforms on social media in circulating this news, presenting themselves to the sports public under the guise of media and professionalism."
He added: "The journalism profession begins with a simple step called verifying the source, a step that seems to have been deliberately omitted from some people's dictionaries in exchange for seeking quick interaction."
He concluded: "We urge all media platforms to exercise accuracy and objectivity, and we confirm that any information regarding the club's contracts is not to be relied upon unless it is issued exclusively through our official accounts, as the sole and responsible source for the team's news."
Traoré had his last experience with Sunderland and the player is currently without a club, which has increased the rumors about his future in recent days.
