Bandar Al-Muqail, president of the Saudi Al-Riyadh Club, confirmed that he is close to signing Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, the Al-Ahly Club player.
The Saudi Al-Riyadh Club presented an offer to Al-Ahly in order to purchase Trezeguet during the summer transfer window.
Bandar Al-Muqail said in statements via MBC Egypt 2 channel: "We presented an offer to Al-Ahly earlier, and we preferred not to talk about the matter because of Egypt's participation in the World Cup".
He added: "Negotiations are proceeding well with Al-Ahly Club; there are arrangements we are finalizing at the present time, and perhaps matters will conclude within 24 or 48 hours".
He concluded: "When Egypt's participation in the World Cup ended, we intensified our negotiations with Al-Ahly and Trezeguet, and matters have drawn close to conclusion".
Trezeguet participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup and managed to score a goal against New Zealand.
Trezeguet had returned to Al-Ahly at the beginning of the past season after a professional stint that lasted 10 years.
Trezeguet participated in 32 matches with Al-Ahly Club in the concluded season, during which he scored 16 goals.
Trezeguet holds a contract with Al-Ahly until June 2031.
