Al-Qadsiah Club defeated its host, Al-Shabab, three goals to one, in the match that brought the two teams together this evening, Thursday, in the first round of the Saudi Premier League.
The events of the match, held at Al-Shabab Club Stadium in Riyadh, were of a good standard, amid mutual control between the two teams over the flow of play, with a relative advantage for Al-Qadsiah.
Al-Shabab took the lead in the 15th minute through player Hammam Al-Hammami, after receiving a ball inside the penalty area, executing a brilliant turn, and firing a powerful shot into Al-Qadsiah’s net.
In the 35th minute, player Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat scored the equalizer for Al-Qadsiah after a long ball, which he controlled with his chest, beat the goalkeeper, and slotted into the net, marking his team’s first goal of the new season.
Player Julian Quinones, the Mexican national team star who shone at the 2026 World Cup, succeeded in scoring Al-Qadsiah’s second goal in the 79th minute after a low cross, which he met with a shot into the net.
Amid Al-Shabab’s attempts to equalize, Al-Qadsiah scored a third goal from a counter-attack in the 93rd minute through player Turki Al-Ammar.
With that result, Al-Qadsiah collects its first three points of the new season, placing it at the top of the standings, while Al-Shabab remains pointless in the penultimate position.
