Zamalek goalkeeper Mehdi Suleiman directed a thank-you message to John Edward after his departure from the position of sports director of the White Castle.
John Edward announced his resignation from the position of sports director of Zamalek after several disputes with the board of directors headed by Hussein Labib.
Suleiman wrote on his personal page on the social networking site "Facebook": "Thank you John Edward for everything you have done for Zamalek Club".
He added: "You always put the club's interest above all considerations, and your management of the football file was full of sincerity and diligence".
He concluded: "All thanks and appreciation, and I wish you all the best always".
Zamalek was crowned last season with the Egyptian Premier League title.
