Ahmed Hassan Maki, the assistant coach in the technical staff of Al-Ittihad Alexandria, confirmed that Hamza Al-Gamal, the team's technical director, will decide his position on contracting with Mohamed Magdy Afsha, the Al-Ahly player, within the next few hours.
Ahmed Hassan Maki said in statements to On Sport FM radio: "The board of directors of Al-Ittihad Club contracted with Hamza Al-Gamal, the technical director, and we have been working well for 3 weeks to prepare for the new season, and we have strengthened the team with strong deals."
Regarding the possibility of Mohamed Magdy Afsha returning to the team's ranks, he said: "He was with us since January last season, and he performed well and fulfilled the role that was required of him."
He added: "Two days ago, we learned that Afsha will not continue with Al-Ahly, and he is an addition to any team, but we are still evaluating the matter, and the decision is in the hands of Hamza Al-Gamal."
Ahmed Hassan Maki concluded his statements by saying: "We will hold a session today with Hamza Al-Gamal after returning from vacation, and we will decide what will happen in this matter.. but Afsha is a great addition to any team."
It is worth noting that the playmaker, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, who is 30 years old, had moved to the ranks of Al-Ittihad Alexandria on loan last season, and played 19 matches with the leader of the port, scoring two goals and assisting the same number.
