Saudi Jeddah Union has begun official moves to sign Imam Ashour, the Al Ahly club midfielder, during the current summer transfer period.
Some Saudi reports had previously revealed Jeddah Union's desire to contract with Imam Ashour.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Wiam said that Jeddah Union is starting its official move to sign Imam Ashour after the financial recovery and an expected offer to the Egyptian Al Ahly within hours.

Imam Ashour appeared with a distinguished performance in the 2026 World Cup and was one of the reasons for the Egyptian national team's qualification to the round of 16 in the competitions as the best achievement in the history of the Pharaohs' participations in the tournament.
Imam Ashour's contract - 28 years old - with Al Ahly extends until the summer of 2028, and the board of directors seeks to renew his contract in the coming period in order to benefit from his services for the longest possible period.
Imam Ashour is currently spending a rest period, after his participation with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup; as he is supposed to join Al Ahly's collective training starting from July 27 of this month.
