Saudi club Al-Ittihad announced the loan of their Cameroonian player, Stefan Clever, to Belgian club Beerschot.

The club revealed that the player has been loaned out until the end of the current season.

Al-Ittihad had signed Clever during the previous winter transfer window on a contract extending until the summer of 2029.

The Cameroonian defender played one match for Al-Ittihad last season in the AFC Champions League Elite.

A previous report had revealed that Clever would feature for Al-Ittihad in the early rounds of the Saudi league, pending the approval of the final local squad, which will consist of 25 players.

The report added that the sports management will decide on the Cameroonian defender's status after the local squad is approved.

Whether to keep him in the Asian squad only or also register him for local competitions, given the limit of eight over-age foreign players, alongside assessing the team's readiness and finalizing new transfer files during the summer transfer window.

The team signed Jan Carlo Simic permanently from Anderlecht, Dion Lopy from Almeria, and Richard Rios from Benfica in the current summer.

Meanwhile, Moussa Diaby, Mario Mitaj, Fabinho, and Ricardo Carvalhal have left the club.

Al-Ittihad is currently in sixth place with 8 points after four rounds of the Saudi league.

Al-Ittihad is preparing for a strong match against Al-Nassr in the Round 5 derby of the competition.
