Al Ain managed to finish the first half of their match against Kalba Union leading by two unanswered goals, scored respectively by Malian player Abdoulaye Traore and Cameroonian Baba Ayelo.
In the 21st minute of the first half, Al Ain scored their first goal against Kalba Union through Abdoulaye Traore following a brilliant piece of play, capped off by a perfect cross from left-back Rafa Rodriguez.
In a touching moment that drew attention, Al Ain players refused to celebrate the first goal out of respect for teammates Sofiane Rahimi and Hussein Rahimi, who lost their father yesterday; the club's stars instead raised shirts bearing images of the duo.
Al Ain confirmed their offensive superiority and complete pressure on the opponent; after an impressive run by Alejandro Caqueo on the right flank, he delivered a precise cross reaching Greek player Giakoumakis, who then passed it to Baba Ayelo to slot the ball into Kalba's net.
With this valuable win, Al Ain increased their tally to 12 points, topping the UAE Pro League standings, while Kalba Union remained stuck at one point, sitting in eleventh place in the table.
