Turkish press reports revealed that Al-Ahly club officials, headed by Mahmoud El-Khatib, submitted an offer to explore the possibility of signing a Fenerbahce player.
Al-Ahly signed 4 deals in the current summer transfer window, namely: Monsef Beqdar, Sofiane Ben Jedidia, Ali Mahmoud and Oktay Abdullah.

According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Al-Ahly submitted an offer to Fenerbahce club to sign the Egyptian defender Omar Fayed, during the current transfer period.
The newspaper added that Turkish clubs are competing with Al-Ahly to sign Omar Fayed, as well as some European teams, revealing that Fenerbahce will decide the player's future in the coming period amid bolstering its squad with new signings.
Omar Fayed had joined Fenerbahce in 2023, was loaned out to several clubs, and did not play any official matches for the Turkish team.
