Al-Ahly Club announced the signing of a contract to establish its sixth branch and the first in Upper Egypt, located in New Sohag City.
The club indicated that this move is part of its new strategy for geographical expansion and strengthening its presence across various governorates of the republic.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mahmoud El-Khatib, the club's chairman; Yassin Mansour, vice-chairman; Tarek Kandil, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Ahmed Hossam Awad, Ibrahim El-Amri, and Rowida Hisham, board members; and Saad Shalaby, executive director.
The contract was signed through Al-Ahly Sports Facilities Company, chaired by Tamer Nasr.
The new branch spans an area of approximately 30 feddans and is expected to include a comprehensive set of sports, social, and service facilities, making it a fully integrated branch serving club members and providing direct and diverse services to a large segment of fans in Sohag Governorate.
Al-Ahly's branch in New Sohag will feature a main social building, an administrative building, and a swimming complex, alongside football fields, basketball, volleyball, and handball courts, as well as tennis courts, a gymnasium, and buildings dedicated to youth sectors and academies.
The New Sohag branch represents a significant step in Al-Ahly's strategy to expand beyond Cairo and extend the club's services to the people of Upper Egypt. It also aims to provide a comprehensive sports environment that helps discover and nurture talents across various governorates, aligning with the Egyptian state's vision and orientations for 2045 towards establishing and developing sports and service facilities.
