Kitora FC of Uganda secured a valuable 2-1 victory over their hosts, Mogadishu City Club of Somalia, in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, played at Huma City Stadium in Uganda.
Mogadishu City took an early lead in the 17th minute through their player Elias Akram.
The visitors turned the tables thanks to Jimmy Kalima, who scored both goals of the victory in the 33rd and 34th minutes.
Al-Ahly Club is expected to face the winner of the Kitora (Uganda) versus Mogadishu City (Somalia) tie in the Round of 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The second leg between the two teams will be held on September 12 at the same stadium, which was selected by Mogadishu City Club, as Somalia has not received CAF approval for its stadiums to host continental matches. However, while the first leg was designated as Mogadishu City's home match, Kitora Club will be the home team for the second leg.
