Al Ahly's position on participating in the African Champions League

Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football, announced several developments in continental tournaments, including increasing the number of clubs in the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup.

Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football, is currently holding a press conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Patrice Motsepe officially announced his position regarding approval of the Egyptian Football Association's proposal to increase the number of participating clubs in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup during the new season.

Patrice Motsepe said during the conference in response to a journalist's question during the press conference he held today in Johannesburg: "If we receive any request, we study it with the higher and specialized authorities from CAF and the decision is considered."

He concluded: "Decisions of this type must obtain approval from the higher authorities and the matter must be studied."

Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, had announced submitting an official request to "CAF" to increase the number of participating clubs in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
