Joey Botevier, the new goalkeeper coach of Al Ahly Club's first team, confirmed that the technical staff's goal for the Reds, led by Hussein Amouta, is clear.
Joey Botevier participated in Al Ahly Club's ceremony to sign the team's shirt sponsorship contracts, as well as the stadium naming rights, the evening before last, Monday, at the foot of the Pyramids.
Botevier posted photos from that ceremony on his official Instagram account, commenting: "Among the Pyramids, and amid thousands of years of history, we saw the power of the future.. What happened the evening before last confirmed to me once again how incredibly big Al Ahly Club is."
The Dutch coach added: "A wonderful event in one of the greatest places in the world.. Al Ahly has a great history, but its ambition is greater.. Millions of fans, a winning mentality, and a future whose goal is always success."
Joey Botevier concluded his statements by saying: "We are here to honor this great club's history and add new pages to it.. Our goal is clear: to achieve the first titles of the season for this wonderful club.. And this is just the beginning."
Al Ahly Club had contracted with Moroccan Hussein Amouta to coach the first team for the next two seasons, succeeding Danish coach Jess Thorup, who left the Reds' coaching staff at the end of last season.
