Egyptian football fans are preparing to follow a new, exciting season of the Premier League, which officially begins in the coming hours with the first three matches.

The 2026-2027 Egyptian Premier League season kicks off with a match between Wadi Degla and Zed at El Salam Stadium this Friday evening. The same day will also see another match between the defending champions, Al-Zamalek, and Al-Ittihad Alexandria.

Al-Ahly, the most decorated club in the tournament, will conclude the first round by facing Sharqia Enppi on Sunday evening, while Pyramids FC will start their campaign tomorrow, Saturday, against Ghazl Mahalla.

Beyond the competition between clubs, there will be a different rivalry among players, as each player seeks to increase their market value by delivering their best performance on the pitch.

With the start of the league, Al-Ahly appears to currently dominate the ideal lineup of the highest market-value players in the competition, with seven players, from the goalkeeper to the striker. (See images)

Pyramids FC is the second club with the most players in that lineup, with three players, including Nasser Maher and Mohamed Hamdy, who made the lineup in place of Moroccan player Youssef Belamri, whom Al-Ahly removed from the list after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury during the pre-season.

While no Al-Zamalek players appear in the highest market-value lineup, Enppi defender Ahmed Kalousha is included, with his current value reaching 1.5 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

The total value of the highest market-value lineup in the Egyptian Premier League this season reaches 26.9 million euros, with the potential to increase depending on each player's performance in the upcoming rounds.
