Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the first team doctor of Al Ahly Football Club, revealed that Akram Tawfik is suffering from a severe cold, which will keep him out of the friendly match against Misr El Maqasa.

Dr. Ahmed Gaballah noted that due to this condition, the technical staff of the team, led by Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, preferred to exempt him from participating in the friendly match.

The Red Giant's doctor added that Akram will undergo a medical examination later to check on his condition and determine the possibility of his participation in the upcoming training session with the team.

Al Ahly had previously won the first friendly against the Libyan team with a score of 4-2, before preparing to face Misr El Maqasa in preparation for returning to official competitions.

Al Ahly will resume its official matches after the end of the international break, facing Bترول Assiut (Petroleum Assiut) on Wednesday, October 7, in the first round of the group stage of the Egyptian League Cup tournament.

Following this, Al Ahly will clash with their traditional rivals, Zamalek, in the summit of the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League for the 2026/2027 season, on Sunday, October 11.

Al Ahly will continue its matches by facing Ugandan side Kitar on October 17, in the first leg of the Round of 32 of the African Confederation Cup for the new 2026/2027 season.
