The Al Ahly Board of Directors, headed by Mahmoud El-Khatib, congratulated the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Hani Abu Rida, following the achievement attained by the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup.
The Al Ahly Club announced its desire to honor the national team players as well as the technical, administrative, and medical staff.
In an official statement, Al Ahly praised the level displayed by the Egyptian national team throughout the tournament, affirming that the players appeared in a manner befitting Egyptian football and achieved an accomplishment credited to Egyptian sports.
The club also commended the honoring bestowed upon the national team delegation by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, viewing it as an embodiment of the state's ongoing support for Egyptian sports and a crowning of the achievement attained by the national team.
Al Ahly clarified that it had contacted the Football Association to set an appropriate date for holding a ceremony to honor the national team players as well as the technical, administrative, and medical staff, in appreciation of their performance in the World Cup.
President El-Sisi received the Egyptian national team this morning at the presidential palace in Alamein to honor the Pharaohs upon their return from the World Cup.
President El-Sisi awarded the First-Class Order of Sports to all members of the Egyptian national team delegation in recognition of their efforts.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi also extended an invitation to the national team to have lunch with him in honor of their performance in the World Cup.
