Al Ahly TV confirmed that the media caused problems within the team's locker rooms last season.
Al Ahly finished last season in third place in the Egyptian Premier League standings, while the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly TV Criticizes Sports Media
Ibrahim El-Manisi said in statements on the program "Malik wa Ketaba" broadcast on Al Ahly TV: "The media had an impact on Al Ahly's journey last season."
He added: "It was the media that caused problems inside the locker rooms; we had the best signings."
He continued: "Al Ahly had many dreams after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, but the sports media focused on Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Imam Ashour, and Trezeguet."
He went on to say: "The media focused on the salary Trezeguet receives, which created a negative atmosphere around the team."
For his part, Adly El-Qiee clarified: "Al Ahly needs fairness from the media in the new season; we do not want some journalists to amplify problems."
