Ashraf Nassar, the president of Al-Bank Al-Ahly Club, revealed the truth behind Al-Ahly's request to sign the duo Mahmoud El-Gazzar and Ali Mahmoud, players for the team, noting that the relationship between the two clubs is excellent.
Nassar stated in comments on Mega FM radio: "There are no negotiations, near or far, from Al-Ahly to sign Ali Hamdi or Mahmoud El-Gazzar, and everything reported in the media is incorrect."
He added: "Our relationship with Al-Ahly is very good, contrary to what is being said about tension between the two clubs. My personal relationship with El-Khatib is at its best, as is my relationship with the other members of Al-Ahly's board, but each club looks after its own interests."
He concluded: "We will not stand in the way of any player who receives an offer suitable for Al-Bank Al-Ahly and suitable for the player; ultimately, we look to the club's interest."
Yalla Kora had published yesterday, Tuesday, that Al-Ahly includes Mahmoud El-Gazzar and Ali Hamdi among their contractual interests, but the club has reservations about Al-Bank Al-Ahly's method of revealing the financial details of deals, as happened with Amr El-Gazzar's deal.
A source said in exclusive comments to Yalla Kora: "The relationship between the administrations of Al-Ahly and Al-Bank Al-Ahly became tense after Amr El-Gazzar's deal and the discussion of its financial details in the media last January".. Read the details here
Al-Ahly Club wishes to sign a new defender during the upcoming transfer windows, given Amr El-Gazzar's injury involving a torn cruciate ligament.
