Al Ahly Club earned significant funds from winning the bronze medal at the Super Globe handball club world championship, following their victory over Zamalek.
Al Ahly defeated their counterpart, Zamalek, with a score of 30-25 in the match held between the two teams this evening, Thursday, at the Administrative Capital Hall, as part of the third-place playoff in the Handball Club World Championship.
Al Ahly received a financial prize of $100,000 for securing third place in the "Super Globe" Club World Championship, making it one of the highest financial awards the Red Devils have earned in handball tournaments.
This marks the second time Al Ahly has won the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup, having previously won the silver medal.
Mortagy's Congratulations
Khaled Mortagy, Al Ahly's treasurer, was keen to congratulate the handball team players after the match, delivering brief remarks in the locker room.
Khaled Mortagy said in his message to the players: "You are an exemplary choice embodying the spirit of the red shirt, and this medal counts for you before it counts for anyone else."
He added: "I was certain of this achievement; in the previous match against Füchse Berlin, I saw unparalleled men on the court."
Khaled Mortagy concluded his statements by saying: "What you did today is an achievement that counts for you and your history. You have honored Al Ahly and the Al Ahly fans."
