Akram Tawfik expressed his immense happiness at returning to the ranks of Al-Ahly Club during the ongoing summer transfer window, after parting ways with Qatari club Al-Shamal.
Akram Tawfik joined Al-Ahly on a three-season contract after mutually terminating his deal with Al-Shamal of Qatar.

Akram Tawfik said via his personal Instagram account: "Returning once again to my home; Al-Ahly was never just a club to me, but has been and will always remain a part of my life and my years."
The defensive midfielder added: "Nine years in which I created my most beautiful memories, and today I return to begin a new chapter of the story."
He concluded: "I missed Tetch Stadium, the greatest fans in the universe, and the home to which I belong. Praise be to God for the return, and God willing, what lies ahead will be even more beautiful."
Returning to Al-Ahly’s ranks, Akram Tawfik held his first training session with the team during their Spain camp in preparation for the new 2026-2027 season.
Akram Tawfik received a special and warm welcome from his teammates and the coaching staff, in an atmosphere that reflected the joy at his return to the Red Castle.
Al-Ahly are scheduled to play their second friendly tomorrow, Friday, in Spain against Europa, followed by an anticipated clash with Barcelona on August 19 for the Joan Gamper Cup.
