Gian Piero Gasperini, the technical director of Italian Roma, expressed his frustration after his team suffered a 4-1 loss to English Cardiff City in a friendly.
Roma started its preparatory period in a disappointing manner after drawing 3-3 with French Cannes and losing to Cardiff by four goals.
Gasperini said in statements to the Italian website "Toto Mercato Web": "I think we are suffering in some situations, especially during defense in the first half, we conceded strange goals".
He added, "The transfer market started late because of the World Cup, but I expected something different".

He continued, "Many players have left and everyone knows that the team needs reinforcements, I asked the administration to sign a defender, a winger and 2 strikers, and of course to compensate for any player who leaves, these are my goals and they don't seem difficult".
Italian club Roma announced the signing of Argentine Santiago Castro from Bologna, in exchange for loaning the Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk to the latter.
Castro became Roma's third signing after Donny van de Beek, whose purchase option the club activated from Aston Villa, and Daniele Gallardo from Hellas Verona.
The club, which will participate in the UEFA Champions League next season, also reached an agreement to sign Greek Konstantinos Koulierakis from Wolfsburg for 16.5 million euros.
