The Football Association has announced the temporary return of Orange Club to participate in the Second Division League.
In an official statement, the Football Association revealed that Orange Club will temporarily return pending resolution of the dispute and issuance of a final ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Orange Club disclosed that it received a ruling affirming its right to participate in local competitions from the International Court of Arbitration for Sport.
This ruling obliges the Football Association to reinstate Orange Club's participation in the Egyptian Third Division League.
Previously, the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association decided to exclude Orange Club from participating in the association's competitions for the 2026-2027 sports season due to failure to meet the legal licensing requirement necessary for engaging in sporting activities.
The Football Association's statement read as follows:
"In light of the decision issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding interim measures concerning Orange Club, the Egyptian Football Association affirms its full respect for all levels and means of litigation applicable within the international football system, and its constant commitment to complying with rulings and decisions issued by competent judicial authorities.
Based on the decision issued regarding interim measures, the Association will take the necessary executive actions, resulting in Orange Club's temporary return to participate in the Second Division League competition for the 2026/2027 sports season, pending resolution of the dispute and issuance of a final ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Association simultaneously wishes to emphasize that the previous decision to exclude Orange Club from the competition was not issued unilaterally or arbitrarily, but rather based on a letter from the Ministry of Youth and Sports concerning the club's legal status, which indicated that the club had not obtained the necessary license to engage in sporting activities, in accordance with the provisions of the Sports Law and regulations governing sporting activities.
The Association confirms that all procedures taken in this regard were conducted within the framework of compliance with Egyptian law and football regulations, ensuring the integrity and stability of competitions, without violating any applicable legal provisions or rules.
The Egyptian Football Association reiterates its full respect for and implementation of the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision, while reserving its right to present its legal arguments and defenses before the court of first instance, awaiting the conclusion of judicial proceedings and the final resolution of the dispute."
