Mali forced a 1-1 draw against Morocco in a friendly match played at the Grand Stadium in the Moroccan city of Tangier.
This is the second consecutive draw between the two teams, following their previous tie in the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations in December 2025.
The match between the two national teams was held after the cancellation of friendlies involving Morocco vs. Ghana and Tunisia vs. Mali.
Morocco took the lead with a goal scored by Abdel Samad Zolouli from a penalty in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Aliou Dieng came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, replacing Mamadou Sangare.
Just four minutes later, Gaoussou Diarra equalized for the Eagles of Mali.
During the current international break, Morocco defeated both Gabon and Lesotho by the same scoreline of 2-0 in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Additionally, Mali beat Cape Verde 3-1, followed by a 1-0 victory over Liberia.
