The source added: "Some time ago, John Edward, the former sports director, spoke verbally with Fathou's agent without discussing any details. If Zamalek opens negotiations with Fathou in the coming period, the player has no issue with renewing and is awaiting officials to open this file with him."
He continued: "Ahmed Fathou received a European offer before the start of the season, which Zamalek rejected, and the player accepted the decision. There has been no negotiation between Ahmed Fathou and any Egyptian clubs, and the player welcomes renewing his contract with Zamalek."
