Newcastle United Club announced its acceptance of Eddie Howe's decision to step down from his position as head coach of the team, thanking him for his exceptional contributions during his tenure leading the club.
The club's assistant coaching staff Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones, Stephen Purches, and Simon Weatherstone are also leaving the club, in addition to performance department head Dan Hodges.
Eddie Howe said via Newcastle's official website: "After a period of personal reflection, I have decided that the time has come to step down from my position as manager of Newcastle United".
He continued, "After nearly five years in which I devoted my life, heart, and soul to this club with all my energy, I feel that it is in the club's interest and my own to step down and take a period of rest to regain my energy".
He added, "Making this decision was extremely difficult, but deep down I know it is the right decision. Throughout my time here, I have always put Newcastle's interests above any personal consideration, and this decision is no exception".
He continued, "Coaching Newcastle United has been the honor of a lifetime for me, and it is hard to describe what this club, this city, and its fans mean to me and my family. Since arriving with Jason and the rest of the coaching staff nearly five years ago, we have felt that Newcastle has become our home, and everyone welcomed us with great warmth".
He concluded, "I am very optimistic about Newcastle's future. The club is in excellent hands, and I have no doubt that the management and the incoming manager will continue to achieve successes".

Newcastle explained in its statement that Howe took over coaching the team in November 2021 at a pivotal stage in the club's history and played a key role in changing its course.
During his tenure, he led Newcastle to win its first major domestic title in 70 years, qualify for the UEFA Champions League twice, and reach the knockout stages of the competition for the first time in the club's history.
The club confirmed that Howe's passion, commitment, and strong relationship with the city and fans helped build a strong foundation for the team's future.
The club concluded its statement by confirming that the process of contracting a new head coach has reached an advanced stage, and updates will be announced soon.
Eddie Howe managed Newcastle in 231 matches, winning 116, drawing 43, and losing 72.
He won the EFL Cup with Newcastle.
