Ivan Toney, the Al Ahli Jeddah striker and England international, has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge following an alleged incident inside a London nightclub on December 6 last year.
Toney appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, after being charged on July 31, according to Sky Sports.
The 30-year-old player denied the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Weeks ago, a spokesperson for the player said: "Ivan acknowledges that he has been charged, and although naturally shocked, he looks forward to the opportunity to prove his innocence in court."
According to Sky, the charge relates to an assault incident that occurred on Wardour Street in central London.
Toney had represented the England national team at the World Cup this summer, coming on as a substitute against Argentina in the semi-final, before starting in the third-place match against France.
The 30-year-old striker moved to Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli Jeddah in the summer of 2024 from Brentford for £40 million, having scored 72 goals in 141 matches while wearing the English club's shirt.
Toney previously missed the first half of the 2023-2024 season due to a suspension related to betting breaches, before returning to feature with the England national team at Euro 2024.
