Ahmed El-Ghandour has returned to officiating matches in the Egyptian Premier League after a long absence.
The Referees Committee of the Egyptian Football Association has assigned Ahmed El-Ghandour to officiate the match between El Gouna and Arab Contractors.
El Gouna and Arab Contractors will meet at 5:00 PM on Wednesday in a Round 3 fixture of the league competition, held at Khaled Bishara Stadium.
Previously, El-Ghandour officiated four matches during last season's league campaign, with his most recent assignment taking place in October 2025.
Following that, El-Ghandour was absent from officiating Egyptian Premier League matches, making the El Gouna versus Arab Contractors game his first league assignment of the 2026 season.
El-Ghandour also officiated several matches in last season's Professional League.
El Gouna currently occupies 12th place with two points, while Arab Contractors sit in 20th and last place with zero points following two defeats.
Essam Abdel Fattah has assumed the chairmanship of the Referees Committee, succeeding Colombian Oscar Ruiz, who departed following the conclusion of last season.
