Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Al Ahly midfielder, believes that the Red Castle fans have the right to feel sad, stressing the need to win titles next season.
Afsha had moved to Al Ittihad Alexandria on loan last January, before returning to the Red Giant after the end of the season, after delivering standout performances with the leader of the port.
Afsha stresses the necessity of Al Ahly winning titles next season
Afsha said in statements reported by the official Al Ahly website: "My period with Al Ittihad Alexandria was special with a big club; things were difficult because we were in a low position, but we succeeded in staying up."
He continued: "I am at the biggest club in Africa; I have spent 7 years at the Red Castle. The team always seeks to win championships; an Al Ahly player must have character."
He added: "We must win titles next season. Every coach has his own personality and method. Hussein Ammouta deals with me well; there is mutual respect, and the most important thing is the interest of the club and the team."
He stressed: "It is important that we win titles next season. We did not win any last season, and that is not the nature of Al Ahly."
He went on: "There is a great responsibility on all the players; we must help each other. Next season will be difficult."
He continued: "Hussein Ammouta demands that Al Ahly players be united as one man; everyone must play for the team, and he always urges us to focus."
He concluded: "Al Ahly fans have the right to feel sad; it is unacceptable for Al Ahly to exit without titles in two seasons."
