English club Brentford completed the signing of Malian midfielder Mamadou Sangaré from French Lens during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Mamadou Sangaré (24 years old) signed a five-year contract, with Brentford having the option to extend it for an additional year.
Mamadou Sangaré's deal became the most expensive in Brentford's history, estimated at nearly 48 million euros.
The Malian international participated in 33 matches across all competitions with Lens last season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
He was selected for the French league's team of the year and won the Marc-Vivien Foé Award, given to the best African player in the league.
Brentford coach Keith Andrews said: "Mamadou is a player we have been following for a long time; he was among our targets and one we were very keen to sign."
He added: "He possesses all the qualities we want from a Brentford player, on and off the pitch. I think he will become a player who is very popular with the fans."
