External press reports revealed the imminent transfer of Mohamed Abou Gabal, the former Modern Sport goalkeeper, to one of the Moroccan league clubs, during the current summer transfer period.
The Moroccan newspaper Le Matin reported that the management of Hassania Agadir Club is continuing its movements in the summer transfer market, after opening negotiation channels with the Egyptian international goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal, who became a free agent after the end of his contract with Modern Sport Club.
The report indicated that this move comes within the framework of the new strategy adopted by the club in the current transfer period, after a four-member committee was formed to supervise the deals file, in direct coordination with coach Hilal Al-Tair.
It added: "Hilal Al-Tair put a list that includes a number of players he wishes to contract with, and Mohamed Abou Gabal is one of the most prominent names nominated to strengthen the goalkeeping position, given his great experience at both the local and continental levels".
Abou Gabal has previously worn the jerseys of several Egyptian clubs, most notably Zamalek, Enppi, Smouha, and Al Ahly Bank, and most recently Modern Sport, and he also has international experience with the Egyptian national team.
It is worth noting that Mohamed Abou Gabal, who is 37 years old, has in his record 3 Egyptian League titles, 4 in the Egyptian Cup, one in the Egyptian Super Cup, and the same in the African Super Cup.
