The Saudi Pro League summer transfer window closes on September 6.
According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Al-Ittihad have agreed with Benfica to loan Colombian Richard Rios.
The Portuguese newspaper clarified that Rios will join Al-Ittihad for one season in exchange for 3 million euros.
Al-Ittihad are looking to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Brazilian Fabinho, who recently joined Turkish club Trabzonspor.
Al-Ittihad were reportedly interested in signing Al-Ahly duo Iman Ashour and Marwan Attia.
However, Ashour and Attia have renewed their contracts with Al-Ahly until 2030, closing the door on any potential departure.
Rios has been playing for Benfica since the summer of 2025, having arrived from Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Rios previously played against Al-Ahly with Palmeiras in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup, a match the Brazilian team won 2-0.
