A source from Zamalek Club revealed the truth regarding Hussein, the club's board chairman, wanting to assume the presidency of the football company.

Zamalek announced that its decision regarding the establishment of the football company is final and there is no direction to back down from it.

The source said in statements to FilGoal.com: "Hussein Labib was among the most prominent supporters of the idea of appointing a sports director to fully manage the football file, which makes what is being circulated about his desire to assume the presidency of the football company or reduce the powers of the sports director (John Edward) illogical".

The board of directors of Zamalek Club issued an official statement regarding backing down from establishing the football company or halting work on it.

The Zamalek board said in an official statement:

"There is no basis in truth for what has been circulated in the past hours regarding backing down from establishing the football company or halting work on it. The Zamalek board, chaired by Hussein Labib, has not taken any decision to stop work on completing the procedures for establishing the company"

"The Zamalek board, about two weeks ago, took an official decision to establish the football company, after the approval of the majority of board members, and it is a final decision with no direction to back down from it. The board is currently studying the offers submitted by a number of investors, to select the best offer that serves the interest of Zamalek Club and ensures the success of the football company and the achievement of its desired goals"

"After completing the study of all offers and reaching a final agreement with the investors, the matter will be presented to the general assembly of Zamalek Club, as it holds the original right to approve the investors' shares in the football company and its operating mechanisms, in accordance with the legal procedures and regulations governing the establishment of football companies".

Zamalek is racing to obtain the African license and participate in the African Champions League next season.

Zamalek Club announced via its "Zamlakawi" app that it has resolved all FIFA cases related to the African license in order to participate in the African Champions League next season.

The final deadline for securing the African license was July 25.

Thus, Zamalek has only one remaining case related to the disciplinary registration ban in the case of Moroccan Salah Eddine Msaddek, which does not affect obtaining the African license.

Zamalek participates in the African Champions League as the Egyptian League champion.

Zamalek returns to participate in the Champions League after a three-year absence, during which it was in the Confederation and won the title in 2024 and lost the 2026 final.
