A source at Zamalek Club revealed the truth about what was circulated regarding the signing of a memorandum of understanding with a Colombian company to establish the club's new branch in the Sixth of October.
The source explained to FilGoal.com: "Communication with this company to establish a stadium for the club began before the withdrawal of the club's previous land in October, specifically in August 2025, clarifying that the negotiations were related to providing new land to build a stadium for the club only, and not to establish a new club".
He added, "The company provided an engineering plan and an initial vision for the project, and a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two parties, stressing that this file has no relation whatsoever to the club's new land in October Gardens".
He continued, "The project has not witnessed any notable developments for about a year, and has become postponed at the present time, in light of the Zamalek board of directors' focus on completing the new club branch project in October Gardens, after agreeing on a specific timeline for implementing the project".
The Ministry of Housing had allocated a new plot of land to Zamalek in the October Gardens area in order to build a new branch of the club on it.
