Paris Saint-Germain reached a preliminary agreement with the Spaniard Ferran Torres, Barcelona's striker, in preparation for signing him during the summer transfer window, as part of the European champion's efforts to compensate for the departure of the Portuguese striker Gonzalo Ramos to Milan.

According to what was published by the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Parisian club has made significant progress in negotiations with the player, after the two parties reached an understanding regarding the broad outlines of the contract, while some final details still need to be resolved with Barcelona's management.

The report indicated that Barcelona no longer counts on Ferran Torres continuing, especially with his contract nearing its end in the summer of 2027 and no progress in renewal negotiations.

The player had previously indicated Paris Saint-Germain's interest in acquiring his services, while the Catalan club's management has already begun planning for the post-departure phase.

The report added that Barcelona is preparing to replace him by signing the German Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund star, who is expected to bolster the team's attacking line.

Thus, Torres's transfer to Saint-Germain appears beneficial for all parties, as the Parisian club seeks to compensate for Ramos's departure, while Barcelona wants to benefit financially from selling the player rather than losing him for free next season as long as renewing his contract would be difficult, and there is also a desire to make room for Adeyemi's arrival.

As for Torres himself, he wishes to obtain more playing time, having received a promise from his compatriot Luis Enrique to participate in the starting lineup.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Enrique played the biggest role in Paris Saint-Germain's move for Torres, as he knows the player well from his time coaching the Spanish national team.

Enrique believes that Torres's speed, technical quality, and ability to play in all forward positions make him an ideal element for the playing style adopted by the Parisian team.

Ferran Torres capitalized on the Polish Robert Lewandowski's reduced fitness during the past season to deliver one of his best seasons in a Barcelona shirt.

The Spanish striker played 33 matches in La Liga, scoring 16 goals and providing two decisive assists.

Despite Paris Saint-Germain possessing a strong attacking group including Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, and Bradley Barcola, the club's management continues to seek additional attacking options.

The report indicated that Barcola's future remains undecided, which increases the importance of signing Ferran Torres, who will provide Luis Enrique with additional solutions in the attacking line.

Paris Saint-Germain officials hope to reach a final agreement with Barcelona in the coming days, amid the club's continued reshaping of its squad, both in terms of new signings and departing players.
