A source revealed that player Akram Tawfik waived $600,000 for Qatari Al-Shamal before terminating his contract with the club.
The source explained to Yalla Koura that the player received $500,000 out of $1.1 million, the value of his dues from the Qatari club.
The source indicated that the player's salary with Al-Ahly will reach 25 million pounds, in addition to 5 million pounds in bonuses and incentives, noting that the contract period with the Red Giant is 3 years.
Al-Shamal club officially thanked player Akram Tawfik in an official statement for the period he spent with the team over the past season.
The official statement from Al-Shamal clarified that Akram Tawfik contributed with his teammates in achieving distinguished results with Al-Shamal during the past season, during which the team succeeded in securing second place in the Qatari league standings for the first time in its history.
The Egyptian midfielder had transferred to Qatari Al-Shamal last summer in a free transfer deal after the end of his contract with Al-Ahly.
The 28-year-old player played 23 matches with Al-Shamal in all official competitions, during which he did not score any goals but provided 3 assists.
Akram Tawfik had previously played 145 matches with Al-Ahly, scoring 3 goals and providing 7 assists, and won the Egyptian League, CAF Champions League, Egypt Cup, Egyptian Super Cup, and CAF Super Cup titles.
