A source from Zamalek stated that the club will not pay the salary of team player Juan Bezerra after he refused to return to Cairo and participate in training sessions and matches.
The source told FilGoal.com: "There is no truth to the rumors regarding paying Bezerra's salary for next September to prevent the player from filing a complaint against the club."
He added, "The club is dealing with Juan Bezerra legally and according to the procedures followed in similar cases when any player is absent from his team's training for an extended period."
He concluded, "Zamalek is taking the correct steps, and the player will have no option but to return, comply with the contract terms, and participate in matches and training. If this happens, it will be a major success for the board of directors. Our position has been clear: regular attendance at team training."
The Brazilian player refused to return to Cairo to begin the preparatory camp before the start of the season due to his desire to transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the UAE.
Zamalek had previously rejected an offer from the Emirati club, which led Bezerra to maintain his stance and refuse to join the team.
Zamalek played two matches without Bezerra against Al-Ittihad Alexandria, both ending in a goalless draw, and then defeated National Bank of Egypt 3-0.
