Zamalek coach Moataz Gamal brought on Mohamed Ibrahim to replace Khodry after Zamalek conceded a goal from the Djiboutian team.
A Zamalek source told FilGoal.com: "Moataz Gamal did not decide to substitute Ahmed Khodry in the match against AS Port de Djibouti due to his mistaken pass leading to the goal conceded by the team, but rather because the player felt fatigue in his hamstring muscle."
He added, "Bringing on Mohamed Ibrahim to replace Khodry was planned from the start before the goal was conceded, after the player felt the injury."
